Subject: 80s soap "Hotel"
Hey,
Does anyone on here remember the tv series "Hotel"?? It starred James Brolin, and Anne Baxter played the hotel owner. It came on right after "Dynasty" I think. There is very little info about this show anywhere on the net. I love all the 80s "Glitz" dramas and I wish they'd show reruns of them!!

I remember when I lived in the US in 88 I taped an episode just because Dirk Benedict was the guest star. Then when I returned to Aus I discovered I couldnt play US tapes in Aus videos !!!!! I think James Brolin looks cooler and sexier now - since going grey - than he did back in Hotel days !!!! Who was the girl in it - Connie Sellecca ??? And Shari Belafonte too.
Luckily I bought a Philips video a few years back and it plays tapes from anywhere - so I can re watch all the stuff I taped overseas !!!

I actually saw a rerun of "Hotel" on the Soap Opera Network. I caught it on Christmas day, and just channel surfing. I believe they showed an episode of Knots Landing and Falcon Crest right before it.
I'm not sure if Soap Opera Network has a website or not.

That website was VERY informative! Unfortunately, I don't get that soap opera channel, but my friend does I think. Maybe she'll let me watch my 80s glitz dramas at her house! The thing I loved about those prime time soaps was that they always featured old movie stars in supporting roles, like Anne Baxter (one of my all-time favorite actresses), and Rock Hudson, Lana Turner, Jane Wyman, etc. They added a touch of geniune elegance and class. Too bad they don't make tv shows like that anymore...

There was another show that ran in the 80's and it seems to be pretty obscure or not remembered by many people - "Matt Houston" with Lee Horsley.
Anyone else remember that one? ???

Wasnt it Matt Houston that had like a totally awesome car - I remember it was white and topless - it had a strange name - Excalibur or something medieval like that. ?

I remember watching 'Matt Houston'....I particularly liked his assistant CJ, the pretty brunette.
What was the fascination with these prime time soaps in the 80's?? Did we enjoy watching the so-called 'elite' act just as trashy as we suspected trailer-dwellers in Mississippi did? Not that I'm denying I watched 'Dallas' after Friday night youth soccer games back in the day ;-). The chicks on Hotel were very cute, too.
