Subject: A few pointless arguments
Soccer or Rubiks cubes?
Spandau Ballet or A-ha?
Space Invaders or Tron?
Your opinions please.
Subject: Re: A few pointless arguments
Rubiks Cubes (cos I was married to a soccer player and believe me I have watched paint drying that excited me more).
Spandau or Aha (Has to be Spandau solely for Martin and besides - I was in Aha's hotel room once and you DO NOT want to know what they were into and what was all over their walls)
Dont know Tron - so it has to be space invaders cos we use to play it down at the fish and chip shop waiting for our order.
Subject: Re: A few pointless arguments
Whats the relation between soccer and Rubik's cube??? --I guess it's pointless! ;) hehe
Anyways...my picks are, Rubik's cube, A-Ha, and Space Invaders. :)
Subject: Re: A few pointless arguments
There is no relation whatsoever between the game of association football, and the brilliant 80s phenomenon, invented by Dr. Erno, that we like, in our circles, to entitle as the Rubik's cube. That was the main point of this topic. To pick two things that have absolutely no relation to each other and decide which one you prefer. Me personally... well, here I go.
Soccer - on the grounds that if I don't say that, my soccer buddies will kill me.
A-ha - can't beat Cryin' In The Rain - although I've not heard it for about 6 months.
As for the last one - you can't beat the original version of Space Invaders, although I seem to have dug out a rare 82 version. However much I play Tron on the website, I still get annoyed with it.
And next week, watch out for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire versus Golden Smog - the band, not the concept - among many other simple arguments such as this.

If you don't know what Tron is, then visit this URL:

Thanks for clearing that up....I was confused for a whole second. ::)
Subject: Re: A few pointless arguments
A whole second? Well, seriously, I've seen those debates where people pick two unrelated things before on some board, I can't remember where though.

Rubiks cube, I don't care, and Space Invaders. To clarify, the reason I don't care is: I only remember one sone from Spandau Ballet, and two maybe from A-ha, so i guess neither one grabbed me by the heartstrings. :)

Tastes great or less filling?
Homemade or Hormel?
Ball Park original or Ball Park beef hot dogs?
Mayo (or Miracle Whip) on the bread or the meat?
Any argument with my family ;D

This one's easy:
Anything described as having "that tangy zip" goes on your meat, baby. Especially if those meats "plump when you cook 'em" (and as long as they do that, who's concerned about flavor?). Any woman worth having will tell you there's no substitute for homemade; and I personally think it tastes great and it's less filling.
And you can tell your family Mystery Woman said so!

OK, my turn:
Apples or oranges?
But seriously, folks:
Rubik's Cubes over soccer (Even rugby, American football, and Aussie Rules are more exciting than soccer! Soccer may have more strategy but rugby, American football, and Aussie Rules have more excitement)
Spandau Ballet vs. a-ha? Tossup as both are considered to me as one-hit wonders (although a-ha may have had more hits in the States than SB)
Space Invaders over Tron (are we talking Tron the video game or Tron the movie?)
Subject: Re: A few pointless arguments
Oranges, definitely

er.. both? Come on, they're not mutually exclusive (especially as it'd be possible to do a cube at least a dozen times just during half time)...
> Spandau Ballet or A-ha?
er.. neither? Though I hear the latter are popular in Afganistan (they keep talking about canned A-ha, anyway)
> Space Invaders or Tron?
Galaxians

Association Football (shame on you Bobo !)
A-ha (because SB were too full of their own importance)
Space Invaders (it was the height of technology !)

The actual lightcycles like in the the movie or the videogame? :) Actually I didn't care much for the lightcycles video game, though I did like Tron Deadly Discs...
