Subject: A-ha (again)
Sorry to restart a thread, but I didn't see the Take on Me thread so....
I just got the Minor Earth, Major Sky cd yesterday (for Christmas). Happy Happy Joy Joy! Anyway, I know someone mentioned that they apparently have a new single out getting play in Europe. Anyone know the name of this single (stupid US stations won't play it)?
Now all I need to do is get a copy of "Shapes That Go Together" from the '94 Winter Olympics... oi...

According to http://www.allmusic.com there are only two copies of Shapes That Go Together, both of which are on the 1994 single. I know, I thought it was weird too.

Well, I know it's not the best format, but I do have the mp3 of "Shapes that Go Together"..and when I downloaded it, it was also, as Bobo mentioned, marked as only being released as a single. ::)

That's a very annoying thing. Although when the singles get in the bargain bin, they only cost 49 pence, in the UK shops, I can't be bothered to go there every day to see new songs in the bargain bin, personally. Every week will do me.

It is annoying! To me, even more annoying, is that so many of the singles were not released here in the US at all. A lot of them I would love to have access to here in the states, but even cdnow doesn't carry them all. I'm with you, I'd be happy to check in once a week if someone nearby would carry them!! What are the record companies thinking, anyway?? ::)

The old singles are probably all still available, you just need to quote the record number and label, all of which are, presumably available on http://www.allmusic.com

Thanks Bobo, I'll check that out. Think they'll also tell me where to look, or do they sell cd's there as well? Sorry, I'd just never heard of allmusic.com..... :-[

What do record companies think? If your asking that as a serious question, it can be answered in one word. Profit. That's the only thing that matters nowadays. Bands are out to make records, to sell to record companies, to make money (fairly or otherwise.)

You can get links from http://www.allmusic.com to http://www.cdnow.com, which allows you to build up a list to be purchased in the future. It depends which are currently available from the website itself.

Actually I think I know a site where I can get Shapes on cd (already have it as an mp3). A while back I ran across a Norweigen site with tons of stuff from A-ha, Savoy, and Morten and Mags solo stuff. Guess I'll have to track that site down again :P

Have you heard the new album, Lifelines?
It's a good album! :)
I saw their first concert (in Oslo) on the "Lifelines" tour in the beginning of June... It was a GREAT SHOW!!! ;D
