One of the few anecdotes I have about my grandfather in his last years before he died (which was in October 1975) was that he and my uncle would watch wrestling on TV, which would then be followed by OTB on TV. If it helps, my grandfather lived in the house again between August 1973 and October 1975 and it was in NYC. What wrestling matches might they have seen? What time did wrestling and OTB air back then, what day?

Did they happen to watch WWWF at the time, this was many years before they changed it to WWF and years later after that they were sued by The World Wildlife Foundation and was forced to change it to WWE.

NWA Wrestling was BIG in the 70s.
Future WWF stars like Harley Race, Jerry Lawler, Terry Funk and Rocky Johnson (Dwayne Johnson's dad) were quite popular
