For those who have Netflix, there is a new version of the sitcom One Day At A Time and in this version, it stars legendary singer and actress Rita Moreno of stage and screen for over the past 60 years. This one is about the every day struggles of the Hispanic family and the situations they go through in life. There are 2 Seasons and they're up now. So let me ask you, Which do you prefer the old One Day At A Time or the modern day show?

I got to admit LB, she still looks amazing for nearing 60 years old. Which do you prefer LB, the old One Day At A Time or the modern day version they've shown on Netflix?

I don't get Netflix. That said, there's not much to improve on the original ODAAT. With the hot Valerie Bertinelli, crazy Mackenzie Phillips, or the wacky Pat Harrington, you just can't top that in a remake. They may as well have cast Adam Sandler in this one. ::)

They did remake One Day At A Time, it's on Netflix Season 1 & 2.

For look, theme tune, nostalgia - it's the original. By the way this series is now un-stalled on dvd and the second season is coming out soon as well as the complete series box set.
For genuine laughs - it's the new Netflix series. I've watched quite a few episodes and it's funny. They did a nod to Pat Harrington recently but I've not seen the episode.

You were probably too young to remember the show, it's run was from 1975-1984.

I will tell you what the actual hell that was, Norman Lear wanted a modern day version of One Day At A Time so what he came up with was a Hispanic family who had a lesbian daughter and in the 70's version, Bonnie Franklin's daughter(s) were not lesbians, they both were interested in the guys, The Mother in the old one was divorced but in the modern one, the Mother has PTSD and was in the army. Rita Moreno in the new show is quite funny, that part I like and Schneider in the old one(Pat Harrington) was very funny and in the modern one is Canadian who is portrayed by Todd Grinnell, his humor is bland. The show is OK but some parts are just not as funny as the 70's version.

I saw the new one and I couldn't remember where I recognized the lead actress and then it hit me: She was the pregnant woman in Final Destination 2. I grew up with the old one, which I now proudly own the complete series on DVD so it holds a place in my heart, but the new version is good. I only wish it was a network show and not a Netflix one.

At that point, Mackenzie was so messed up, no thanks to her father, that Norman Lear and the other producers decided to let her go for a while to get herself straightened out.

I think around the 1983-84 seasons she was so messed up, they had no choice but to let her go.

I barely even recognized Rita Moreno. Is that a wig that she's wearing? Because I don't think that hair is natural to her head.

Yes I think that's a wig, her hair now has turned to all gray.
