Subject: Does anyone remember this King Kong Candy TV commercial?
Written By: tzanaglio on 07/09/16 at 6:32 pm
I love watching classic TV commercials and have been looking for one for a long time now, but I can't find any information online about it ever having existed. I'm pretty sure it was made in the late 1970's, shortly after the 1976 King Kong film was released. The entire commercial was a woman in a white dress sitting in a giant mechanical Kong hand, possibly the one used in the film. It was some sort of candy commercial, possibly Hershey's kisses or Bon Bons, or something similar. I remember she was talking about the candy, then Kong growls, and she looks up and says something like "Calm down big boy". It aired consistently for a good while, and it was obviously not a cheap local commercial, so it has to be out there somewhere. Just wondering if anyone else remembers this, and if so what the candy was so I might be able to track it down more easily. I would be grateful for any information at all about it that might help me track it down. Thanks in advance!
