Dan Hill is a singer/songwriter from Toronto, Ontario (Canada)
I was going to do this one as a poll, until I realized that it wouldn't get a big response based on how successful he was outside of Canada. Often referred in pop culture as a one hit wonder, he had many hits in Canada that the rest of the world did not see (but should have)

His song In Your Eyes, he originally wrote for George Benson (whose version in 1983 reached #7 in the UK chart). He then recorded it himself in 1984 for his Love in the Shadows album, but never released it as a single.
Jeffrey Osborne recorded a version for his 1986 album Emotional, and took it to #15 on the US Adult Contemporary chart.
Despite its non chart appearance in North America, George Benson's version still remains the best known, but Hill's re-recording of it with Rique Franks in 1994, I still hear on the radio from time to time.
On a side note, which version of In Your Eyes do you prefer? I like all three almost equally

My favorite of Dan's is "Sometimes when we touch". Like most would say here. One of my wife's favorites as well.
Sure, Dan was not a one hit wonder, I do know several songs here. "Can't we try" is a great song too.
Out of the 3 "In your eyes" song, I like Peter Gabriel's George Benson's the best, barely though.
