I actually know this one too, but didn't get an apportunity to hear it in ages. I think you posted a Triumvirat song about 6 months ago, or an album cover? Or both?
I think we (my buddies and I ) got hold of some of their albums back in...geez...1974 to 1976? It's good stuff. Didn't get too much German stuff back then.
Another German group around that era was "Lake" ( have you heard of them?). I didn't hear of Kraftwerk until later on...much later on in the decade.

I believe (pun intended) that was a song and album cover from Spartacus. I have posted quite a bit from Triumvirat and
ELP. Can you tell they were my favorites?
I know of Lake but I can't say that I know of anything they did. I'll have to check them out on youtube.

Boney M yes. I can totally hear the similarities.
Speaking of Boney M, I still love the song Brown Girl in the Ring. As a AA side with Rivers of Babylon, it reached #1 in the UK. As a separate single release in North America, it failed to chart in the US, but reached #47 in Canada. It was through this song that I first learned what a Johnnycake was. I still have yet to try one lol

My wife introduced me to this song in the 1990s. Apparently Boney M was more popular in Hong Kong than Canada. "Brown girl in the ring" is a beautiful song, my favorite of theirs.

Whenever you suggest a song it usually turns out to be a pretty good song, and this is no exception. I did recognize the name (Pete Sinfield) but couldn't place him anywhere. I had to look it up, of course, King Crimson. The song actually sounds like a mix of King Crimson and Harry Nilsson. At least for me it does.

Pete Sinfield was more of a poet. Most of his songs tell a story and that is definitely evident in King Crimson.
He was also a long time writing partner of Greg Lake, you see his name often in the credits on ELP albums.

Funny you should post that song. I'm glad you like it. I know this song was popular. I have a funny story (funny to me) about this song.
When my friends and I gathered together, we used to make lists of things. When we did a list for "Top 100 worst songs of the 1970s" back in College (and the list had many disco songs, a genre none of my friends and I liked) this song was #2 on the list. I still have the list somewhere, I think. ;D

This song reminds me of high school, lots of Rush's material from 1975-80 does. They were (and still are) so popular up here. We use to drive by where Getty Lee went to high school (just a couple of miles away from my high school). My buddies and I would sit in the hallways after school or during lunch with out boom boxes and listen to music (Rock or Prog rock)...

It reminds me of my sophomore class trip to Great Adventure. It was playing on the way down there and everyone was singing it. Another song that reminds me of that trip is "Put Another Log On The Fire." There were four of us, my boyfriend at the time and his sister and a friend of mine (who I still keep in touch with). We were on a Ferris wheel and my bf & his sister taught my friend & I that sound. We were singing it at the top of our lungs. When we got off, there were these two guys who said we sounded great. :D ;D ;D ;D
It was a wonderful day.

I've mentioned this one before in another thread, but it's just so good: Here is the 1975 track Goddess of Nature by Abraham's Children. This was very popular in Canada; I remember hearing it played in the 80s alot. The more I listen to it, the better it gets!

This song was a single only release. It was supposed to be the lead single from their 2nd album, but they parted ways before it could be completed.

Sure was popular. Abraham's Children had other songs in the 70s and my favorite was this one.

I was peaking on acid and was totally tripping out on this song. 8)

They did in Canada. My favorite Edward Bear is this one. It's such a pretty song.

This might just be the best song the group ever made. But just like a lot of Canadian bands and singers in the 70's and early 80's, they were never really given a chance in the U.S. market. It's America’s loss, Canada's gain.
