Subject: Sort of Fat & Round, bright colored toy cars - 1970's

Hello All-
I was thinking about these toy cars that more often than not...girls would collect them in the 1970's. It was about the time you might have collected cards with really funny, yet gross characters on them. :-\\ I just vaguely remember these toys/games and cannot even start to think what the name of either of them might be...anyone here that might remember these?

I don't recall the cars but the cards you're talking about sound like Garbage Pail Kids cards.... I know that wasn't the question...just the only thing I had an answer to.... good luck.

Only thing I think it might be is Penny Racers, but they were around in the early 80's not the 70's

Those were real cars. People actually drove them, if you can believe it!

hi april.
i beleive the little round cars you are referring to were called "penny racers". as i remember, you'd put a penny in the slot in the rear, and the counter weight of the penny would make them pop wheelies, spin around etc... hope this helped!!! 80's rock!!!!!

BTW I was the winner of that eBay auction! I had a few Penny Racers as a kid. Loved them!
Wouldn't mind getting a few more unopened, and a couple loose so I could try them out after all these years!

If the ones you are talking about were rounded and kind of lumpy, they were from Hallmark. I still have some stashed away somewhere.
