all of the above hard rock except for the fact that taking care of business is so overplayed that I'm kind of sick of it. I like this better then the original blinded by the light song http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/manfredmann9.shtml

April Wine - Oowatanite (1975)
-- no video for this one.
(Update: Never mind. It works.)
The Stampeders - Running Wild (1973)
-- not the kind of sound you'd expect from them ("Sweet City Woman").
Orleans - Love Takes Time (1979)
-- that is a good one.

Why not some soft and hard sounds from The Rolling Stones.
From April 1976,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Teo0LYxjxvI
Fool To Cry
From April 1972,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U8JlcB_BzA
Tumblin' Dice
And for some reason The Rolling Stones keep up their tradition of awful album covers during the '60s, '70s and '80s.
Except for 1965's "December's Children", and maybe 1967's "Their Satanic Majesties Request".

Too many to list, although I've recently been spinning Aqualung by Jethro Tull, Brain Salad Surgery by ELP, and one of my favorite albums of all time, Paranoid.
70s hard rock is probably my favorite style of music, and I was born in 1991! So much better than today's sheesh.
The 70s soft rock is pretty lame though, imo

It's summertime, so I guess that means it's time for some '70s soft rock sounds from...The Beach Boys.
From April 1975,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDWyxogL3KM
Sail On, Sailor
From August 1976,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocUX6u1fOLI
It's OK
(I don't think there's such a thing as a hard rock song from The Beach Boys?)

Gerald Bostock sent me an email saying he wanted me to post some good soft & hard rock sounds from Jethro Tull...
Okay, no prob, Gerald.
This one's from late 1969. It's a great early Tull song that I'm sure got played in the '70s.
(And their early style is way different than a their later stuff.)

Reasons for Waiting
Hard to believe but JT's "Crest of a Knave" album won the Hard Rock/Metal Performance Grammy in 1989.
They shouldn't have, but when they needed to, Jethro Tull could rock out better than any band in the '70s.
From October 1975,
