Gotta be Daddy Cool. Love Boney M.
One of my faves of '76 was a cover of the Stones classic 'Tell Me' by a group called Airlift.

I picked eleven. (It was tough to whittle it down even that much!) So sue me. ;)
From the list:
If You Leave Me Now - Chicago
The Boys Are Back in Town - Thin Lizzy
Magic Man - Heart
Do You Feel Like We Do? - Peter Frampton
Moonlight Feels Right - Starbuck
More Than a Feeling - Boston
Sara Smile - Hall and Oates
Still the One - Orleans
Then I also picked 'Other' - here they are:
Walk This Way - Aerosmith
December 1963 (Oh What A Night) - Four Seasons
I'll Be Good To You - Brothers Johnson
Here's some 'Honorable Mention' of mine that didn't make the list:
This Song - George Harrison
Sing A Song - Earth Wind & Fire
Get Closer - Seals & Crofts

1976 was probably my favorite year, but looking at this list reminded me how much it sucked for music on the radio. There was good stuff out there...but you didn't hear it on the top-forty stations.

One song that did sneak into the British Top 40 that year was 'Anarchy In The UK' by The Sex Pistols...
However, that was never gonna get airplay and even then, as soon as it charted, EMI deleted the single and dropped the band! Imagine that happening today!
It's reckoned that if this hadn't had happened, the single would have sailed effortlessly into the Top 5...

I agree, back in New York we listened to WLIR and WNEW where they would play concerts from the Capitol Theater, the Palladium, My Fathers Place and the Calderone Concert Hall; mostly Grateful Dead
