Does anyone notice that family photos from the '70s, especially late '70s, have an orange-reddish tint to them? That's how my mom's old photos from that time period look. Because of this, I always associate the '70s with the colors orange and brown.

Yeah, I attribute it to a combination of 70's camera technology and aging photo medium.
Regarding the colors orange and brown, those colors were popular in the 70's - especially home decor - and of course people wore them too.
