Subject: British sitcom "Fawlty Towers" starring John Cleese
Written By: Frank on 12/22/09 at 5:18 pm
Fawlty Towers was a British sitcom produced by BBC Television and first broadcast on BBC2 in 1975, (six in 1975, six in 1979)
The setting is a fictional hotel called Fawlty Towers located in the seaside town of Torquay on the 'English Riviera' The show was written by John Cleese and Connie Booth, both of whom played main characters.
Who was your favorite character?
My favorite was Manuel (portrayed by the British Andrew Sachs). The crazy Spaniard from Barcelona. He made me laugh whenever he was on screen. "Qué?"

I think this show may just be the best comedy series ever made....
Basil was my favourite as Cleese was just so masterful in his role. Manuel and Polly were great too. Polly was a sexy little maid... ::)
I think Cleese and Booth actually split up doing this show.

'Fawlty Towers' is a classic! Did you know that my original alias (FaultyDog) was partly inspired by this sitcom?

As much as I like Manuel ("I know nothienk!"), I voted for Basil.

"Communication Problems", the episode with Mrs. Richards is my favourite. It reminds me of the time when I did reception work.
