Subject: Remember 70s commericial promoting healthy snacks?
Written By: nancycr3 on 09/16/09 at 1:26 pm
Does anyone remember a commercial from the 70s promoting healthy after school snacks.
It was a meatball with two toothpicks for legs dressed as a cowboy (including hat, boots, and holster) and he sang and danced around the kitchen and into the refrigerator suggesting carrot and celery sticks. (I'm not kidding!!!)
I would love to see that commercial again or at least confirm that my memory of it is correct. ;D

no but they were shown around the same time the same way.... I was just wondering if that PSA the original poster was looking for might have been school house rock but after watching these I'm thinking its more like the Time for Timer PSA's.

it was a fun one!!! But I'm guilty of doing that!
Honestly I forgot all about these and then the memories came flooding back as I sat on you Tube for an hour... I didn't post as many as I could have ;)

Time for Timer. He first appeared in an ABC Afterschool Special (thought I don't recall the name but I'm sure if I had time to do a research I can come up with it) and then went on to do PSAs.

I have no life, so I will!
Time for Timer! (links with pictures and video of the prime suspect)
"I hanker for a hunka - a slab or slice or chunka - a snack that is a winner, and yet won’t spoil my dinner, I hanker for a hunka cheese, yahoo!"
