Subject: The 70’s “ I need PROZAC” album!
Written By: Frank on 06/30/09 at 6:49 pm
Remember those sappy, sad depressing songs from the 70’s? Here’s a list of some I could think of.
Without you – Nilsson
Alone Again Naturally – Gilbert O’Sullivan
All by myself – Eric Carmen
How ca you mend broken heart – Bee Gees
Song sung blue - Neil Diamond
Everything I own – Bread
Yesterday once more – Carpenters
At Seventeen – Janis Ian
I think "If you go away" – Terry Jacks is possibly the most depressing song of all. I use to have the ’45 of it and once I played it at 33 1/3 and it sounded even more depressing
Don’t get me wrong, these are songs that I really like, but they can be borderline depressing and make you wanna take Prozac to come out of it! Any additions to the PROZAC album or comments?

The classic 'Sweet Misery' by Teaze from 1978. It has a depressing theme, but an upbeat melody. It's my favourite song of the 70s

It was okay to slide. It was probably on an album made or released in late 1979 anyway.

I'm not in love - 10cc
I think that would be devestating to have someone say that to me, oh wait, I *did* long ago.

Yeh, that song was about someone wanting to kill themselves. Odd tho it would be a Canadian. It's so beautiful up here. :)

Some lyrics to my number one " I need prozac and zoloft" song
If you go away - Terry Jacks
"If you go away, on this summer day
Then you might as well take the sun away"
"But if you go away, when I love you so
There'll be nothing left in the world you know
Just an empty room full of empty space
Like the empty look I see on your face
If you go away, if you go away
If you go away"
Just pull that friggin trigger man!

Brian Eno: Discreet Music
That's more like a Valium album, I guess!
