Subject: Hand-held water games
Written By: Fairee07 on 03/16/09 at 1:07 pm
Does anybody remember these? Did they have a specific name? My older brother had a couple or maybe more. I remember that one of the games had the object of getting all the rings on the pegs by pressing a water pump.

As soon as I read the title of your thread I pictured one of these games. I can't remember a specific name for them. :-\\
I remember a basketball hoop one and the rings game you mentioned.

And speaking of Water Toys, here is a funny toy review by Mike Mozart, about a Dora The Explorer water toy that came out a few years ago. If you are easily offended, you might want to skip the video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgBvkHwCxJc&feature=channel

Yeah, we had that one. I think it was called "Waterful Ring Toss." It wasn't no X-Box/Sony Playstation, but it was what we had and we liked it, we liked it fine!

I remember a game with a hook and a little ring suspended in water. It was sort of like a snow globe. You had to wobble the sphere around until you got the ring caught on the hook. It was really frustrating because you'd almost get the ring on the hook, but if your hand moved a millimeter the wrong way, the ring would float away!
I'd post a pic, but I don't even remember what you call such a thing.

I know what you're talking about. I remember seeing this at the local drug store (next to all the other knick-knacks) when I was a kid and it was called, of all things, "The Hooker." ;D
So far, no luck finding it online though. :-\\

We had that game and one where you had to build a robot! Would have been late 70s or early 80s. I loved the robot one.

I also remember similar games. They must have been common even until the 90s.
