Subject: Rich Man Poor Man - 1976-
Written By: Michael C. on 02/17/09 at 9:54 am
February 1976. In an innovative move,ABC TV begins airing a 12 part mini-series.
An all star 70's cast brought Irwin Shaw's 1969 novel to life.
The story of the Jordache Family kept audiences glued to their sets.
I watched week after week, getting sucked into the involved, evolving story. The 12 hours provided ample time to really get to know the Characters which I think added to the appeal.
The multi part Mini Series became a Television staple after this one.
It made Nick Nolte a Superstar.

I remember it being on but couldn't watch it because it was on past my bedtime. ::) However, I did see parts of it later in reruns. I was surprised when I discovered that my beloved Bill Bixby was in it and then I was so disappointed because he played a not-so-nice guy. :\'(

Bixby was very underated .
He was a more versatile Actor than most realize.
He also was quite talented behind the camera.

Mr. Eddie's father, Tom Corbett. He was great.
I have actually never watched this, only a few minutes here and there. I should watch it on DVD.
