Subject: Across the Universe

I just watched this Musical last week, and thoroughly enjoyed it. While it wasn't shot in the 70's, it is certainly about the late 60's and early 70's period. So anyways, I have some questions about several of the characters. While they aren't historically accurate, they are representations of actual people or events in some cases, some were easy to pick out, others weren't. For instance, the Doctor they traveled by bus to visit, was probably Timothy Leary, if there was an event associated with it, I missed it. Now, can y'all help me fill in the rest?
Who was Sadie supposed to be?
Was Jo Jo Jimi Hendrix?
Who was Dr. Robert?
Was Strawberry Jamz supposed to represent Apple Studios, and the Rooftop gathering the Beatles rooftop reunion?
