I remember Moonraker and I thought it was the dumbest bond ever.  It starts off as a spy film, and ends up as Star Wars ::)

Yes...I did read that he followed his passion for flying. He was a 'try hard' teen idol but didn't quite make it. His best movie was The Sadist.

In 1974 he was in the original movie The Longest Yard starring Burt Reynolds.  Richard Kiel's name was Samson.  2 memorable scenes of his are  1) when they are asking him if he wants to join the inmates football team. in this scene he's huge and menacing looking as he is lifting weights but his responses are calm and nice & he just seems so pleased that they asked him.

Paul Crewe: We're gettin' up a football game against the guards. Wondered if maybe you and some of your buddies here would like to join in on the fun.
Samson: With the guards?
Paul Crewe: Uh huh.
Samson: Sure, I'd like that.

and 2)  from the football game when he demolishes one of the guards.
