My favorite John Denver songs would be: Annie's Song, Looking for Space and Fly Away. :)

I love the song Take Me Home (Country Roads)  < that's my favorite

and then second place goes to Sunshine On My Shoulders

Really tough, but I'm going with Calypso (although "Looking For Space" comes in a reallyclose second).

'Take Me Home (I_am_a_loser_who_has_no_respect_for_women)ry Roads' is my choice, but my all-time Denver song is 'Shanghai Breezes' from 1982

Whenever I think John Denver, the first song that always comes to mind is that jingle he sang for Arbor Day Commercials ...

Just realised when I read the choices...I really liked a lot of his stuff. Really hard to choose one....was going to go with Calypso but started humming Follow Me (chose that one).  :)

The slightest edge goes to 'Calypso' - it gets my vote.  'Fly Away' and 'Rocky Mountain High' are also contenders for fave, though.

"Annie's Song" a timeless classic beautiful love song he written about his wife at the time but later divorced (Go figure)

Hi Alan, well it seems it "gunna" be a long, long way for me to explain straight and clear in English. :(
No need to worry, since I'm a big, big stubborn I 'll get it sooner or later.

What I meant to tell it was that I really love this song and I guess West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains and  Shenandoah River the places where John Denver went around between trees, mountains and breeze.
  As for miner's lady, stranger to blue water I confess I don't understand  ???

A miner is someone who digs or extracts minerals/ore.  I believe he means to convey that this miner's wife/girlfriend has not been exposed to the real beauty of nature in its' purest form.  I hope that helps.

I grew up with John Denver's music and have to confess that I love it all...

No link handy but upon the Web is an interesting tale of the head honcho of China (post Mao) who was so enamored with the John Denver songs he heard during a USA visit he bought a bunch of Denver cassettes and took them back to China and ordered several radio stations there to put the songs in their music rotation.

Appears the tale is true.

I love "Rocky Mountain High", along with "Sunshine On My Shoulders".  :)

In a way, I like all of his songs.

I haven't heard a single John Denver song that I haven't loved. It is really really hard to chose. I will hafta get back to yah when I make my choice.

I like most of his songs but I think my favorites are "Wild Montana Skies" and "When The River Meets The Sea"

I might mention the John Denver & The Muppets Christmas CD is excellent.

Of those you listed, my favorite would be Looking for Space but my all time favorite would be Thirsty Boots!  I still listen to that today! :)
