I loved all the characters on this show but of course I would have to vote for Mary (she made the whole show - that scene in the opening credits where she throws her hat in the air is timeless). I also love the tough as nails Rhoda and being a big Betty White fan I will go with Sue Ann as well.
Among the male characters I like Lou the best because even though he seemed gruff on the surface his tender side always came through somehow.

I liked the major characters the best (that's why they were the major characters)..... Mary, Lou, Murray and Ted...

I just picked Georgette and Rhoda....
um what about Gordy the Weatherman or Lou's wife (Edie) or Murray's Wife (Marie)?
and how about Bess, Phyllis' daughter?
my other two votes would go to Marie and Bess....

Murray always had the best put downs for Ted. I loved all the cast,so picking a fav was hard. My favorite episode has got to be Chuckles the Clowns funeral. " A little song, alittle dance,a little seltzer down your pants". Kills me everytime http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/03/clown(1).gif

Yeah I liked the part of that episode where Mary is trying to stifle the giggles at Chuckle's funeral and the minister tells her it's OK to laugh and she gets so embarrased that she starts to cry instead. ;D
