Subject: 1978 Theme party

I am invited to a 1978-theme party but have no idea what to wear. Does anyone have any cool ideas for me and perhaps also for my partner? I believe most of the guests will arrive in 1970s fashion clothes, but I was hoping to do something different. What happened in 1978 that could be used as inspiration to what to wear?
