Subject: Linda Ronstadt Favorites

Even though most of these were done by other artists first, Linda Ronstadt did superb covers of many songs that in my opinion were just as good, if not better than the original versions. My top 3 picks are You're No Good, Blue Bayou, and It's So Easy.

Either "I Can't Let Go" or any of the Elvis Costello covers she did.

From her 70s work, I'd probably say "It's So Easy".
My all-time favourites are "Get Closer" and "I Knew You When" from her 1982 album 'Get Closer' which (believe it or not) is one of my all-time favourite albums of the 80s 8)

I love a lot of her songs, but "You're No Good" and "Ooh Baby Baby" are my Linda Ronstadt favorites.

"Long Long Time". I am going to use that as the love song for my TV Show 'Bertstown' which I would like to get sold to Adult Swim. It combines original characters with characters from the H-B Library. It's like 'Harvey Birdman' meets 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force', and I know that they stopped the Harvey Birdman formatted shows, but 'Bertstown' has original characters as well.

How about Tumbling Dice?
Ooh Ooh Baby out of the list and then I Can't Let Go and Mad Love. Her duets with Aaron Neville are awesome: "Don't Know Much" and "All My Life" http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/15/toothy1.gif

Oh yes...I remember those. They were hits roughly around the same time, as I recall. Of those two, I have somewhat of a liking to "Don't Know Much". O0

She had a 3rd Aaron Neville duet that charted in 1990 called 'When Something is Wrong With My Baby' from the same album as the two already mentioned

I love "living in the USA"
and 'oohhh baby baby"
and her versions of Mohammeds Radio and You Can close Your Eyes.
She wrote a song in Spanish called "Lo Siento Mi Vida" with her father..it's great.

Linda had so many hits and her voice was genuinely able to pull off a remake with no huge effort. It was a shame she could not travel to perform for the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
