Anyone watch this show in the 70's? It was one of my favorites until Shelly Hack joined the cast.

I loved this show. For one summer I ran around carrying a black "38" revolver with a silver barrel and pretended like I was Jill. My friend was Kelly and her little brother was our Bosley. We had an invisible Sabrina or maybe we killed her off all together- I forget.
I watched again when TV land aired them a few years ago. Even as an adult I still love the show even though the feminist in me says hmmm that's not right. I mean yeah they are virtually independent women (a rarity on 70s TV but they depended far too heavily on their feminine wiles. Whatever! I still loved it.
But yeah, when I was a kid I didn't realize how bad an actress Shelly Hack was. HA HA Hack- how appropriate! But she was almost unbearable to watch when those eps appeared on TV Land. She was a model, the Charlie girl and I guess they hired her because her commercials were popular she was the closest thing to an "IT" girl on TV.
Tanya Roberts wasn't much but she was better. I went to a taping during the 1st season of That 70's show and afterwards they let the audience stand at the banister and try to get autographs. On this day the cast was involved in some discussion and pretty much ignored us. Tanya (she played Donna's mom) wasn't involved in the talk. She was standing off to the side and none of the fans were paying attention to her because they wanted the kids autographs. I called out her name and she came to me. I told what a big fan I was chucks chicks (that's what I call it) and what an influence it made on me. She was totally gracious (of course I didn't tell her she was my fifth favorite angel- there were only 6) she went out her way to find me a copy of the script for the episode they shot that night and autographed it for me. It was a nice moment.
Favorite eps:
Angels in Chains- obviously
Target Angels- hitman tries to kill the angels to get at Charlie
To Kill an Angel- (the first time) Kelly gets shot in the head by the autistic kid Skip
Lady Killer: I like this one for the most bizarre reason. The title is a non sexual double entendre because ladies are being killed but the killer is a lady (I know I pick up on the smallest & strangest things)
Angel Come Home- the first of 6 eps Farrah must do to fullfill her breach of contract
Mother Angel- Jill protects Olivia Barrish (she played Kim's friend in Tuff Turf Tia) from killers
Angel in Box- Kris is kidnapped Jill must save her
Angel on my Mind- Kris suffers Amnesia
Avenging Angel- an ex-con gets Kelly "addicted" to heroin
An Angel's Trail- Jill is kidnapped by LQ Jones and his two sons one of whom is developmentally disabled.
Fallen Angel- Jill returns as the girlfriend of a cat burglar played by Timothy Dalton. I love the fight she has with Kelly in the bathroom.
Angel Hunt- the angels are taken to an island and hunted
Angels on the Street- the good girl daughter of a music works as a hooker on the side to help her pops school stay afloat. I love that song. "If you could see/The sum of why in me/What would the total be?" I don't really remember the rest of it and I don't quite get it cuz she uses math to relay her feelings but I still like it.
To see an Angel Die- Kris is kidnapped again. (this happens to her alot) This time in Hawaii
Let Our angel Live- Kelly is shot. If I'm not mistaken she is shot in the head... again... and lives... again.
Wow that's a lot of eps. but since there were 115 episodes in all and only one two flashback eps I guess there's a lot to like.
Sorry if this is long but I'm so bored at work its hard to stay awake.

Do you remember calling Sabrina Duncan 'The smart angel' And the cars they had? I think Jill had a Cobra and Sabrina a Pinto! I can't remember what Kelly had.

Wow, you really are a big fan, even today!
I was a big fan in the 70's and even had a scrapbook with all their pictures but I don't think I would go as far as a vanity plate!
Do you remember the Wella Balsom Shampoo ads they did ? (except Kate Jackson)
I have some photos if your interested in seeing them.

yeah there was time (tho I don't think i could do it as well now) where I could walk in and see an episode on the tv. No matter where we were in the episode I could tell you in less than a minute which episode it was, quote lines from it and name similar themes from other eps. I was a freak. It kinda scared my mom that I liked it so much but from my perspective. There were not a lot of "independent" women doing their thing. I learned a lot about feminism from that show.
Again I was 11 or 12 when it started. The whole sexuality- T&A thing was totally over my head. So I never really thought of myself as a sexual being.
I remember during the Hostage crisis that Ted Koppel and nightline always pre-empted the late night airing of chucks chicks. I would get so mad. "Day 79 of the Hostage Crisis" it was one am before the show finally came on. I think it was supposed start at 1130 after the news. Some nights it didn't come on at all. Then suddenly the hostages got released and I was like YES! I get my late nite reruns of CC. but no ABC decided to keep Nightline. BASTARDS!

those are very cool. I guess Kate Jacksons hair was too short to make an impact for the ad huh?
Okay when I get home (i'm at work) I have something that will make you laugh- probably. This will tell just how twisted and
obsessed I really am.

When it first came on, I remember when I first saw Kate Jackson thinking, "That's the girl from The Rookies". Kelly was always my favorite. I thought the show was going to suck when Farrah left and Cheryl Ladd came in, but I found that I liked Cheryl Ladd MUCH been than Farrah. When it because a "revolving door", I stopped watching.
FYI: The episode where Kelly gets shot in the head and the other two are trying to find the autistic boy (gather clues from a story that Kelly told him) was done on The Mod Squad-only it was Julie who was shot and the Pete & Linc sought the boy.

Hey all. Glad to see a CA thread, that's actually why I'm here. Myself, and several members of The Townsend Agency Forum are wondering about a fashion logo worn by several of the girls. There is a tiny H.L on many of the Angels' jackets and sweaters. Does anyone know what H.L stands for? Here are a few examples:

It's probably Henri Lloyd. According to my google search Henri Lloyd has been around since 63 and they seem to make sporty clothing (like for yachting).

Kelly had a 2 door sedan Mustang with the vinyl landau roof. I think it was a beige color with a brown landau roof.
My brother was a big fan of Charlie's Angels, especially Farrah Fawcett. He had her famous swimsuit poster in his room. One day my sister got mad at him and ripped it up.

It created a stir because you saw ' nipple'
I got mad at my brother for smudging my lip-balm on my mirror (Lip Smackers) but we all loved Farrah's poster!

I like this one how she was credited as Majors. She was married to Lee Majors, and even though they had separated at the time, he mentions her in the theme song to his then new series 'The Fall Guy' in 1981. One year later, they got a divorce (but from what I remember, her name was kept in the theme for it's entire 5 season run). He found out she was messing around with Ryan O'Neal, so apparently she was the type to kiss and tell ...
"But the hardest thing I ever do
Is watch my leadin' lady
Kiss some other guy while I'm bandagin' my knee"

No Way! She had some balls.
Why did Farrah leave the show anyway? Was it because they were not paying her what she felt she deserved or something?

Partly because of movies and I think partly because Lee Majors couldn't handle her success. She was way more popular than he was and he was too macho to have a woman make more than he did.
