Both Billy Don't Be a Hero and The Night Chicago Died.
Why do I think both were on one 45? :-\\

I really only know 'The Night Chicago Died' (though I was aware of them doing 'Billy Don't Be A Hero').
So I picked 'The Night Chicago Died' - it's good, especially since I'm from Chicago! ;D

I had to choose other. Though I like Billy Don't Be A Hero and The Night Chicago Died, they are not
my favorites.
My choices:
Hitchin' A Ride
I Did What I Did For Maria

I picked other.
The one I like best is "We've Got The Whole World In Our Hands" (w/ Nottingham Forest FC). That even made #3 over here.

I voted for The Night Chicago Died, the other one Billy Don't Be A Hero was noted more for the Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods,
which went on to being a number one hit. http://www.bodonaldson.com/
By the experts not me Paper Lace got a unfair rap as being a great cover band, at least in the states they did. But in England they fit right in during the early 70's glitz and glam. along side T Rex and the Sweet. Throw in the money they made off the royalties of the Heywoods and the Australian film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: It used Billy Don't Be A Hero.

The lads themselves probably didn't make a 'killing' from it, as they neither wrote it, or own the rights to the song...
Still a well-remembered song, considering it's over 30 years old...

TNCD, despite its geographically impossible and sometimes unintelligible lyrics.
