Subject: Marshall Hain

Anyone else like Marshall Hain (Julian Marshall and Kit Hain)
They were apparently short lived in the late 70s, and after splitting up, Kit Hain went on as a song-writer, while Julian Marshall found more success as a member of The Flying Lizards and Eye to Eye. Here's what I could find on their discography ...
Marshall Hain
1978 - Dancin' in the City
1978 - Coming Home
Flying Lizards
1979 - Money
Eye to Eye
1982 - Nice Girls
1983 - Lucky

Their legacy is (and always will be) 'Dancing In The City'...
Fine song which always reminds me of a certain period in time...in this instance, holidaying with the family in Weston-Super-Mare, where this record was always being slapped upon the jukebox!

I had a feeling "Am I Normal" was a chart hit somewhere. According to the internet, it was a UK single, but did no damage in the charts, so I assumed it had to chart somewhere else

It's one of those songs that I happen to like, although it's totally weird, it never was a hit and nobody else remembers it. I never even realized Julian Marshall was one of the band members, until I read this post. He co-wrote the song, btw.

Dancing In The City also reminds me of a certain time in my life, and to be more specific, late nights during that certain time in my life.
I was a little kid in 1978 (I was six) and I remember laying in my Mum's bed late at night with the radio on and this song would always come on. Such a classic, and such excellent memories.

Wow! I didn't know it had a video. Of course it's always a surprise to see a 70s song with a music video
