You are correct sir! Upon leaving Bauhaus, Daniel Ash went on to form Tones on Tail! which would gradually morph into Love and Rockets

Never really liked either of those two. Loved Bauhaus stuff though.

Skinny Puppy weren't around in the 70s
The roots of the Skinny Puppy sound (Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, Kraftwerl, Can, Neu!) were around in the '70s. Only Kraftwerk achieved commercial success in that decade...and precious little of it sounded much like Skinny Puppy! The early "Industrial" scene was "underground" (for lack of a better word). Prog rock was more conventional-sounding, though it tended to influence other musicians rather than get bought in mass quantities. It's a long list of bands who will tell you they were influenced by Gong, Can, Faust, Neu!, Soft Machine, King Crimson, and Brian Eno. Go back to 1977 and ask for those bands in the mall rocket store. "Got no idea what your sayin,' man!" If that record store happened to be in Berkeley or Greenwich Village, you might have more luck.
Anyway, cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre were in teenage punk bands in late '70s Vancouver. I don't recall if they worked together or not and they may not either they've done so much dope! In the early '80s, even concurrent with Skinny Puppy for a while, cEvin Key was in a New Wave band called Images In Vogue. I've never heard them, but I think I know what they sounded like!
Joy Division, Siouxsie, and Bauhaus most certainly had '70s routes and they were all most excellent bands!

Aha, someone else who's heard of Gong. I had a couple of their albums at one time.

Peter Murphy's "Dust" CD is excellent! Heavy Turkish influence. That's where he's been living. Why Turkey? Why not?
Gong was like what would have happened if Pink Floyd kept running in the direction of "Umma Gumma"! A fact rarely acknowledged, Gong bassist Mike Howlett designed the New Wave/synth pop sound we loved so much in the '80s--
