Depends what sound of theirs you tend to like more. ;)
For example, I'm into pop friendly/melodic '80s rock, so I like stuff like "Too Much Time on my Hands", "Don't Let it End" and "Music Time", so my favorite studio album is Kilroy Was Here. Although if you're just getting into them, I'd go with a greatest hits collection (like their '95 Best Of).

I think the three that Cat mentioned are their best, too. I don't know about Kilroy Was Here (which has the infamouse Mr. Roboto song on it) ;D

Well, not everyone likes Ashley Simpson.
A) You spelled her name wrong.
B) I never said I liked her.

A) You spelled her name wrong.
B) I never said I liked her.
A) That's because it's unimportant for me to spell it correcylt.
B) If ya beef about it, it must be something!
That said, Styx could still whip the @$$ off of any wanna-be Industrial punks.

The only styx album I liked was Paradise Theatre, but that doesn't say much as the only Styx song I ever liked was "Too Much Time on My Hands"

Styx was, is and will always be, a very versatile, very eclectic band.
They were among the first to set the stage with dramatic live shows.
They draw off of many styles, from blues (Can't Make Peace), to rock (Snowblind), to synth-pop (Mr. Roboto), to opera (Lorelei).
Of course, some ppl don't acknowledge that.
Some ppl only think that whatever they listen to is worth anything.....(No names mentioned.)
I, on the other hand, try to find the value in all music. Even Whitney Houston.
Even Garth Brooks. It's damn hard at times, but I try.

What a shame. I was so looking forward to your list of names. All I said was that I didn't care for their music. Didn't know that meant that only what I listen to is worth anything.........

Moving on.....
I was saddened when I heard about John Panozzo's death.
He was a powerful drummer, when the songs called for it.
He also showed a great potential as an actor.
I didn't know this, until I saw their website, but he & his brother, Chuck, both served during Desert Storm/Desert Shield.

I still have the poster that came with the Grand Illusion album somewhere around here (that was on my bedroom wall until I moved out of my parents house). It is nice to see other Styx fans around here.

I remember when I was in High School, the Performance Show Choir I was with looking to put together a revue for the Fall season, and I was able to talk my teacher into pulling a song, from the "Caught In the Act" album. I got to choreograph it, figure the lkighting & the FX, it was an opportunity I will never forget.
We did "Snowblind".

Way cool. I started to choreograph a dance to "Snowblind" myself. I was in a group at college that put on a show. (The year before, I did a dance to "Moondance".) As I was working on it, we were told that there would be no solos in the show. I was pissed and quit the group.
