Subject: Favorite Love Story
Written By: Tanya1976 on 06/19/06 at 12:49 am
Love stories were every part of the 1970s. It didn't have to be a drag out lovefest, but even if it had a bit of passion, you may have voted it as one of your faves!!
My choices:
The Way We Were - classic movie and classic song
For Pete's Sake - she demonstrated what a woman would do for the sake of her husband
The Goodbye Girl - a lovely film which earned Richard Dreyfuss his Oscar.

I own "The Goodbye Girl" and I have seen "Love Story" about 3-4 times. Makes me cry every time! I also chose Harold and Maude, as I've seen that and enjoyed it very much.

I love The Goodbye Girl. I like the theme song even more. Love Story causes my tear ducts to burn from too much crying, lol. Harold and Maude was a great unconventional love story!!!

A good selection of "Love" films from the decade of LOVE. ;)
I selected from the list
Harold and Maude (1971)
The Goodbye Girl (1977)
Annie Hall (1977)
But could've added
Love Story (1970)
The Way We Were (1973)
And for others that were not listed I would add...
A Touch of Class (1973)
Brian's Song (1971)
A New Leaf (1971)
Avanti! (1972)
Cousin, cousine (1975)
Days of Heaven (1978)
:)

I love The Princess Bride, great, great movie, a great love story...a storybook story
Only problem, it came out in 1987 ;)
Since I have to pick from the 70's I gotta go with "The Good-Bye Girl"
Harold & Maude comes in close second and has a great soundtrack

My mistake, see what happens when you skim through the titles of the threads. I have
to be more observant.

It is hard to believe that "Love Story" will 50 years since it's release next year.
