Subject: The Two 70s

Just HOW different do you think the periods 1970-1976 (the bubble-gum pop, stadium rock, flairs, post-hippie) and 1976-1980 (punk, gritty urban culture, disco) were, all things considered? I think in terms of tech, fashion.etc they were quite similar - although we saw alot of leather in the late 70s (platforms at first seemed a soul/funk thing, before becoming adopted by Disco). Which movies illustrate each era? Early 70s would be 'The French Connection', 'Dirty Harry', shows like the Partridge Family, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Columbo, Brady Bunch, late 70s more like Night Rider, Charlie's Angels, MASH.
