Love her! My sister had the Tapestry album, and we used to play the heck out of it, and knew the words to every song. I know we drove our parents crazy :D

The entire Tapestry album is ace.

I think her career as a songwriter was her greatest achievement, though that's not to play down her own remarkeable singer-song writer career. She definately began at a much more advanced age than many of her contempararies (I think she was in her mid-30s when Tapestry was released).

Her first hit as a singer came with "It Might As Well Rain Until September" in late 1962. She was about 20 years old. She'd been having songwriting success since at least 1960 when "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" became a huge hit for The Shirelles. She would have been about 18 then.

I've still got Tapestry on vinyl and have bought her "Best Of" CD. I play it all the time.

I think her "Tapestry" album was on the Billboard album charts longer than any album (or maybe PF's "Dark Side of The Moon" finally won)...

Aside from Tapestry , I'm also a fan of all the songs she wrote for other people. It seems like from 1960-1969, every song was written by her and Gerry Goffin.

I like her song "So Far Away". Unfortunately it wasn't a big hit when it was released in '71. I only heard it for the first time when I saw her sing it live on NBC Today. I think it was last year.

'It's Too Late' or 'Natural Woman' are probably my favourites of hers.

I have the Tapestry CD, and my mom always played that album when I was a kid, always enjoyed listening to it.
