I had a very fetching bright green tank top as part of a suit. I had a bright green jacket and choice of trousers or skirt. I thought I looked the bees knees!

Oh, I know Rupert. Someone gave Jake a book called "Rupert and the Coconut Shy". That is the only thing I ever saw. He
is not popular over here, but both Jake and I liked the book.

I think he first appeared as a newspaper cartoon thing, in a slightly unusual format. There would be two pictures with rhyming couplets underneath telling the main jist of the story with the main story printed inbetween the two. As a child I watched the cartoon on TV. I can still remember most of the theme tune.
Back to the topic. I never had rupert trousers, were they more a boy thing?

I can't say anything about tank tops but I had the loveliest pair of Rupert trousers... they were all yellow orange brown and tartan.

I always liked 'Rackety' from the Rupert Annuals, it was a kind of humanised twiggy tree with a face that followed Rupert about, (kind of like those bushes that roll around the desert if that makes sense?)
tried to find a pic but can't
