So, there was another thread where we started talking about Joni, and I figured it would be better to dedicate a whole thread to the little Canadian prairie girl with a great big voice. Tell us which Joni albums/songs you like the best.
I personally love her first two albums Song to a Seagull and Clouds.

Big Yellow Taxi, Help Me and Raised on Robbery were the three of her 70's hits that I best loved. My favourite song though was her 1982 hit (You're So Square) Baby, I Don't Care :)
She also made an appearance on the African relief single "Tears Are Not Enough" by the Northern Lights

A couple favorites are Free Man In Paris, Raised on Robbery and This Flight Tonight, which Nazareth did a great version of.

Did you guys know Bill and Hillary Clinton took the name Chelsea from the song "Chelsea Morning"? I read it in My Life by Bill Clinton(great book btw).

That has totally been my favourite Joni song since I first discovered her. What a beautiful, happy song.
What an awesome piece of trivia. And people wonder why Bill Clinton is STILL the man.

I think Joni is one of those few artists who have appeal that totally transcends their historic syntax and time frame to be timeless and universal. Other musicians in this category include, IMHO, The Smiths, The Beatles, Tori Amos, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, The Talking Heads (narrowly, because they're pretty new wave), The Pixies, Sonic Youth, and The Velvet Underground.
