The singer died this morning at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for lung cancer and brain cancer.
A spokesman says his wife Nina was at his bedside when he died.
His velvet voice sold more than 40 million albums and won three Grammy Awards. His hits included ''You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine.''

Very, very sad :\'( He will certainly be missed.
I saw him this past fall doing the national anthem for a Chicagoland sports event (I forget if it was baseball or football). He looked frail. He sounded great, though.

they keep playing him on the radio. that's a good thing; it's been way too long

I heard Lady Love on the radio this weekend, excellent song!
