Subject: What was your favorite thing to wear in the 70s?

I'll never forget Star jeans - I recently found an Eatons catalogue from 1976 and there they were! $22.00! Oh yeah! I wonder what my bum would look like in them now?! 8)

I was born in '81 (around the time the Late 70's faded away for the most part), so I'll have to take a slight variant and say, my favorite thing to wear back then, would have been the styles you see from That 70's Show.
In a way it was the casual look of today (jeans, rock T-shirts, and maybe a jean jacket or something along those lines) mixed with the more carefully/cool dressed look of the 80's.
In other words, it was easygoing, but not the "sloppy" or hip hop-esque styles that have been popular the last 8-10 years.

i was a tiny little rodent for most of the 70s. i had these four little turklenecky 70sed-out alan alda-ish shirts with wrenches on em. four of em, blue, red, yellow, and green. i had a space:1999 game where i ranked em, and so when i wore the green one i was like an ensign and i could only fly the eagle four but when i wore the blue one i was the captain and i could fly the eagle one.
cuz, like, eagles rocked.

now that i look at them again they're actually rather alarmingly phallic.

I was 7 in 1979, so my favorite thing to wear back then was my Superman outfit. I wore that thing everywhere. Out shopping, to the movies (yes even to non-Superman movies), out for drives, you name it I wore my Superman outfit to it.
I guess my favorite NON-costume outfit wouldve been my Grosbey (Sp?) shoes. I remember John Wayne did an ad for them here in Australia. I also used to like my Barter Scouts. I remember the theme song was to Dirty Deeds by ACDC.
I also used to like wearing my Led Zeppelin 3 T-shirt. I wore that until I got so big for it it began to fall apart at the stitching. I still have the front part of it though.

I was 15 in 1977 and my friends and i were somewhat of the non-comformist type. Everyone was wearing big bells, silk shirts, and platform shoes. We were into straight leg Levi jeans or cords, LaCoste polo shirts, (the ones with the crocodile on them which I still wear today but it stinks that they're 69.99 and my parents don't buy them as when I was in high school!), and Converse Chuck Taylors (Black High-Tops only). These have all become classics, and you could wear all the above and still go completely un-noticed (except maybe forthe cords).

I too had a olive green Army jacket that I aquired through a trade back in 74'. I remember lots of guys wore biker boots, these big black engineer boots that were pretty intimidating. my favorite outfit for chicks was simply levi cutoffs and halter tops. I always wore desert boots and levi bell bottoms.

Cool topic :)
Any hat lovers out there? I had this denim patchwork hat, I don't remember the name for that type of hat but it was shaped like a huge beret with a little bill attached. I really loved wearing my hat! I had some other hats I really liked, but that was my favorite. Would you believe it was STOLEN from me, right off my head? (My Jr. High school had some unscruplous characters.)
Another favorite was a pair of brown leather clogs I had with a sling back strap. They had a little flower etched into each shoe. I completely wore those shoes out! ;D

Another thing I used to LOVE to wear was my Pong T-shirt. The little sticks and ball used to shine in the sunlight and it had emblazoned across the front, "PONG". I also has a Space Invaders T-shirt and a purple Phantom T-shirt.

I was 10 in 1979, so what I can remember loving to wear were my denim jeans with satin edging (red, yellow and blue) down the seams and on the butt pocket.
