Subject: Apricot Shampoo
Written By: Carleen on 11/06/05 at 5:05 pm
I am driving myself and everyone around me crazy trying to remember the name/brand of an apricot shampoo from the early 70's. The company also made a strawberry and a baby shampoo. Can anyone help?

Sauve? They constantly change products & I think I remember them having an apricot one.

It might have been Herbal Essecenses. They changed their packing a lot as well. But I seem to remember a strawberry shampoo from them.

no, it wasn't suave and i'm pretty sure it wasn't herbal essence either. now that's going to be bugging me! i remember that shampoo. there were different fragrances, but that's funny, because apricot is the one i remember most. i'll have to think about this and get back to you! :-\\

I don't remember exactly but I wonder if it could have been one of those great 70s/80s shampoos like:
Flex
Agree
Deminsion
Gee your hair smells terrific
Body on tap
Breck

It was called 'Earth Born'. Here's a link to the photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/84369496@N00/2202692518/
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I WISH THEY STILL MADE IT.

Prell, Breck, Agree...
We had all those cheapo drugstore shampoos!
Sometimes my mom would pick up a bottle of Dr. Bronner's at the health food store. Ever tried to read the entire label on one of those?
:D

Oh hell yeah.
For those who don't know, here's a blog where someone's attached a high-resolution version of the label in question.

The only question is...will you see the light before you run out of hot water?

Then later when I worked at a health food store, Dr. Bronner's sent supplemental scrolls in each box of bottles. It just went on and on and on in that 4 pt. font stream of consciousness. He claimed to be the blind rabbi Reverend Dr. Bronner and I'm pretty sure he was a friend of Owsley Stanley as well!

I remember mailing in for a sample of it. They actually gave you a small (travel size) bottle instead of the tiny one-use packet they give you now.
