What is now called the "Billboard Hot Dance Music / Club Play chart", began on October 26, 1974 as the "Billboard Disco Action chart". Here is a list of every song to peak at #1 (including weeks at #1) on the Billboard Disco Action charts from October 26, 1974 - December 29, 1979.

Funny lists.
I've seen those "dance music" charts in the 1970s Billboards. Most of those songs probably haven't been heard anywhere since about 1980.
I wonder, out of all those songs there are probably 2 or 3 that are pretty good and worth hearing, just forgotten. Anyone care to find them?? ;D

I'm surprised that Don't Bring Me Down by ELO didn't make that list. I know that it was considered disco at the time it came out, no matter what people think it should be classified as now.
