Subject: Best Nostalgia-Themed Films of the 70's
Written By: iluvthe80s on 09/07/05 at 7:31 am
For me, it would be a toss-up between the first three, but I'll go with Grease - I can watch that over and over and never get sick of it. (BTW, since I have a DVD player now on my laptop, that's one of the first DVD's I'd like to get.) 8)

I chose "American Graffiti" for a few reasons -
1. Slightly more authentic to the era than Grease, which was a bit more glossy (but great to watch!)
2. Harrison Ford made a brief cameo
3. Oh, and did I mention Harrison Ford ... mmmm ;)

They made a sequel to American Graffiti in 1979 called More American Graffiti, but it was nowhere near as good as the first one - it was set on New Year's Eve in four different years between 1964-1967, and I just thought it was a little too confusing as they kept switching back and forth from one year to the next throughout the whole movie. The first movie was great though. :)

American Graffiti is definite favorite, the period it was set in was before my time but I could relate to it, that whole car and cruising culture was a big part of my late teen yrs. :)

I went with 1978's The Buddy Holly Story but would also give movies like these a vote too
Next Stop, Greenwich Village (1976)
Summer of '42 (1971)
