If I were a trucker, I'd bet all on "Highway to Hell" It makes for good road rage music. Preach on brother Angus!!!! ;D

Highway to Hell. In my neck of the woods Led Zepplin is waaaaaaay overplayed and I can't stand to listen to them at all. Pink Floyd has the same effect on me.

"Hell" wins but ONLY because that WHOLE song rocks whereas Stairway starts off mellow and builds. So as far as which one ROCKS more...that's my opinion though I love BOTH :)

'Highway To Hell'...wasn't that the name of that TV series with the late Michael Landon?!
(Certainly was hell from what I remember of it...!!)

I've always thought 'Stairway to Heaven' was overrated. Undoubtedly one of the best of the early 70s, but not my fave Led Zep tune. 'Highwall to Hell' is a very different song and they epitomise opposite ends of the rock world. 'Stairway' was overblown, pretentious and ambitious whereas 'Highway' is pure thrashing rock ...they both work well though. I don't know which way I'd choose however, the Stairway to Heaven (still a good song) or the Highway to Hell (one of AC/DC's best).

I can't believe you describe Stairway to Heaven as over-rated/ambitious/pretentious/overblown - surely it's an original classic rock tune, that can't be compared to anything else? It stands alone imo :)

it was Highway to Heaven.
I knew it had some religious connection to it...
And it rubbed off on me too - every time it came on, I'd cry 'Oh Jesus...!!'
