There's this song I've heard before that sings about San Francisco and I thought it was by a singer called John Phillips, but now I'm not sure
It goes:
"If you're going to San Francisco...be sure to wear some flowers in your hair...if you're going, to San Francisco, You will meet some gentle people there"
"All across the nation....its a new generation...." Thats all I got...its on the Forrest Gump movie. I can never find it anywhere, though. Any ideas?

What year was that song released btw? I always thought it was a 60s song?

It is a 60s song. I'd say around 68 or 69.
