Subject: Time in a Bottle by Jim Croche
Written By: eightieschick53 on 03/22/05 at 8:38 pm
I downloaded this song, just for the fun of it tonight and I have to say it is the most beautiful, haunting song I have ever heard. When I listen to it, I want to cry for no reason. That is a sign that a song is really good. :)

Yep :) Just for info EC53, it is "Croce" but the pronunciation is how you have it spelled :)
But I agree with your sentiments, it is a lovely song ;)

I've told my family that they're to play it at my funeral.

It's a crushingly beautiful song (so much so, that we in Britain totally ignored it...tch!) made all the more poignant as it was released a few months after his fatal plane crash...

I have always loved "Time In A Bottle". From the moment I first heard it during my childhood...up until now...the song has definitely stood the test of 'time'. :)

Charlie Fox and Norman Gimbel wrote "I Got a Name" for the movie Last American Hero. Jim was selected to sing the title song and it was an uncommon experience for him, and a little uncomfortable. Here's a cool link ;)

Yes, "Time in a Bottle" is a beautiful song (tune and lyrics). If I understand right it was used in a motion picture during the seventies. :)

Yes. It was called "She Lives". It was also used as an "arc" for Port Charles called (what else?) "Time in a Bottle"

The song turned out to be tragically and ironically his future, but,at the time,it got in the way of "good rock and roll" on our little Elmira AM station.WELM...
