Subject: 70s album cage match

Written By: gord on 12/21/04 at 8:40 pm

A radio station I used to listen to would do it nightly, we'll need longer to give everyone a chance to vote. I'll list an album and the next poster put up a challenger. After a week or so a winner is declared and it starts again. Any studio album, live album, or greatest hits from the 70 to 79 is elegible.

I'll go from the middle of the decade with Bruce Springsteens- Born to Run

hey sorry folks :-[, I didn't explain it clearly. What should happen is that woops was the very next poster after me so his album is the challenger against mine, everyone then votes on the 2 albums, after a week or so a winner is declared based votes and then it starts again with a new challenger against the winner. So its

Born to Run  vs.  Never Mind the B_ocks

Ill have to choose Born To Run by The Boss, mainly becauuse I only like one or two Pistols songs.

Sorry 'bout that, gord...I blame my age...!!

Deleted my original post and I'll vote Pistols, simply because it gave Rock a much-needed kick up the backside...

(But both albums are fine...)

Well...I can't stand Bruuuce and I believe Sid is a murderer...so the better of the two would be Springsteen :-\\

Probably small consolation, Mark - but the general consensus all these years later, is that Sid never played a note on the album...!

my vote is for Springsteen(though i own Never Mind The Bullocks..chalk that one up to a temporary punk phase in the mid-80s..don't worry..it was very short-lived  :D)

Sorry for the misunderstanding!!

My vote goes to Springsteen since he played on the album and the Sex Pistols didn't. They were basically a fabricated equivalent to the boy bands of the 80s, 90s, and today.
