Just a quick note from Australia
I need to find the name of a song in the 70's
put out by a coloured group 6-7 males in the group
Went like this....
"Say you'll meet me down on the beach tonight, where you and I can dance the night away,
underneath the stars and soft guitars it's going to be an all night party babe..Little girl he wont be there to come and greet you he'll be at the beach... so you might as well come down and join the party...

I do remember that song very well ... but for the life of me I can't remember who sung it. Perhaps The Drifters :-\\ I'll have a dig around and see if I can find out.

Me again - It IS the Drifters and the name of the song is "Down On The Beach Tonight".

No probs Bob.  Maybe it was only a hit here in Australia ??? I just searched at Amazon music for Drifters CDs and found the song on their boxed set of Greatest Hits. I suppose I was lucky to have remembered the artist :)
