HEY! I wasn't sure about when this group had their big hit Ventura Highway...Can someone enlighten me on this one? I just dig that song, so cool! Ventura highway...in the sunshine, .... :-\\

They were at their best in the early 70s, that's when I saw their concert at the old city auditorium in Atlanta. I again saw them in about 1975 at the Fox and they weren't as good.

'Ventura Highway' was a big hit for the group in late 1972...very good song...
Two thirds of the group made a short-lived comeback some ten years later, so that's probably where you've got confused...

America--they had comeback hit in '83, I think it was called "Make it to the Border."

They are still actively touring and they sound GREAT - in fact, I'm going to see them tonite! ;D
"You Can Do Magic", "Right Before Your Eyes" ('Rudolph Valentino' ballad), and "Border" were all hits for them in the 80s. Their other top hits were from the 70s.

Actually they made thier comeback in 1982 with a great song called "You Can Do Magic" from the LP A View From The Ground ;)
