Somebody submitted misheard lyrics for "Good Morning Starshine" with John Denver indicated as the singer. I don't remember Jonh Denver ever doing that song. Did he?

No he didn't. The singer did sound ALOT like John Denver, though.
The singer of this Top 40 Hit, John Oliver, went by the stage name "Oliver".
The song originated in the play "Hair"

Oliver's real name was William Oliver Swofford. Sadly, he died in 2000. :(

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (AP) -- William Oliver Swofford, a singer who under
the stage name Oliver had late-'60s hits with the songs "Good Morning,
Starshine" and "Jean," has died at 54.
Swofford, who had cancer, died Saturday.
In 1969, his recording of "Starshine," from the Broadway musical "Hair,"
climbed to No. 3 on the pop charts and the ballad "Jean" reached No. 2.
He toured throughout the 1970s, then left the music business in the 1980s
and worked in the home-construction and pharmaceutical industries.
His wife, Becky, said the last time she heard him sing was during a church
fund-raiser in 1998, when he was asked to perform his two hits.

I liked the song "Jean" but never really cared for how he did "Good Morning Starshine". I guess because I was so used to listening to the soundtrack from the play Hair and liked that version better (along with Easy to Be Hard-hated how Three Dog Night did it)

I remember a while ago, 'Good Morning Starshine' was named by some magazine (i forget which one) as one of the 100 greatest Canadian songs of all time. The song was written by Quebec born composer Galt McDermott, who wrote and composed the music for it's parent rock musical HAIR

Oddly enough, Good Morning Starshine would have slipped into obscurity, had it not been for Leonard Nimoy :)

Really? Wow, I really need to get out more often. It's not like I search for it over here, I listen to the generic Classic Rock station or mostly Podcasts these days. But there are plenty of places playing oldies (I realy hate the term!), and still you hardly hear it. The Simpsons did their tribute in one episode with Nimoy singing it.

It will no doubt that very soon Hair will re-open on the London stage, every other old musicals are.

hmm I'd guess that's a negative ;D
Which ones are the WAGS? (perhaps one of those with the massive plastic threppennies??..predictable I guess)
the only person I recognise out of all the contestants are R.Kilroy-Silk and Dani Behr - who is looking great.
mind you I would never have guessed that was Sulu unless someone hadn't mentioned it. :D
