Other - I like all these just about equally. :D

Scooby Doo, Where Are You? - I always knew who did it. :o
H.R. Puff N Stuff - Watching this was like being on an acid trip. :D
Land of the Lost - Can't beat the effects! LOL!! ;D
School House Rock - Wow, that takes me back.

OK. I Lied. I like these two the best of the best:

Star Trek (Animated Series) - It's the geek in me.
Super Friends -  Yeah!! This cheesy-ness ruled!!  8)

Speed Buggy. "PPPPPPPP, PPPPPPPP, Hey Tinker, I've got anti-freeze in my carburetor!"

Also, I don't remember watching "H.R. Pufnstuf" when I was a kid--it was a couple years before my time, but I did see a hilarious spoof of it on "Mr. Show with Bob and David" called "The Altered State Of Druggachusetts."

IMO, they don't count since most were made during the '30's to the early '60's.  :)

Unfortunately, it's now only on Cartoon Network for one hour on Saturday morning.  :P

Not to mention editing (for violence, un "P.C." tuff, etc.).  :-\\

Plus, "Popeye" can only be seen on "Adult Swim".
Because he's a "bad influence". OK, he fights & smokes a pipe...What about "Fairly Oddparents"?
A bratty kid who only thinks of himself & takes advantage of two fairies.

Funny how the regular shows and movies have gotten WAY more violent while they bitch about the old cartoons ::) I saw them in the 70's and some were made IN the 70's...just not as good as the older ones, IMHO ;) Hopefully Cartoon Network will still do "June Bugs" which features Bugs Bunny all month :D

There are so many, I'll just name of few of my favorites, The Banana Splits, The Hair Bear Bunch, Pink Panther,H.R. Puffnstuff, Laff-a-lympics. In front of the T.V. was the place to be on Saturday mornings in the 70s! Anyone remember the Davey and Goliath cartoon? It wasn't really a cartoon, it was more like claymation I guess. Was that in the 70s or 60s?  :-\\

British Saturday morning TV for most of the 70's was an extremely dour thing to view - 'specially for the kids...

We did get the obligatory 'Scooby-Doo' and most other HB cartoons, but we'd also get ancient black-and-white episodes of 'Casey Jones', 'Champion The Wonder Horse', 'Tarzan', or 'Flash Gordon' along with some cheaply-dubbed and tedious European drama ('The Flashing Blade'...in 643 episodes!)

Special word of thanks to the Aussies, who brightened things up a touch with 'Skippy'...a marsupial version of 'Lassie', if you will...!!

The most anarchic thing we ever got was 'The Banana Splits', but even that paled alongside the groundbreaking 'Tiswas' - our best kids' TV show bar none (which was probably watched by more adults than children...!), and which provided the template for what was to follow right up until this day...an absolutely legendary programme...!!

I'm sorry, there is something completely perverted and nasty about Popeye, Bluto, and Olive Oyle!  The way Popeye has that alcoholic, wet brain, nonsensical stuttering thing going on, and Olive has the emaciation and the jittery speed-freak personality is really twisted.  And Bluto, what's up with that guy?  I think he wants Popeye, not Olive!

I can't believe that no one has mentioned the funniest cartoon that has been or ever will be made:

GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE!

Also The Rocky/Bullwinkle Show and Hoppety Hooper/Uncle Waldo.  JAY WARD ROCKS!  8)

The Bugs/Daffy show was known as the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour in the 70s.  While I agree that the great cartoons we all know and love were made back in the 40s and 50s, much of the BB/RR show's newer animation (intros, bumpers etc.) should make it qualify as a 70s program (they eliminated all the "newer" animation when the show changed networks in the late 80s).

Bugs & Daffy (in unison; Daffy in rabbit suit): "And we think (biting carrots) we have quite a nice show: drama, variety and even a wonderful sponsor!"

I picked "other" and my pick (even tho some of the shows listed were on it) was the Kroft Supershow (I think that was the name of it).  It was the one with Kaptain Kool and the Kongs...and they showed various Sid and Marty Kroft shows.  Later, the Bay City Rollers hosted a similar Kroft-type show.

And my second favorite would be Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.  :)

If Skippy were still around today, he would be foiling terrorist nuclear plots !  8)  Of course, why a bunch of terrorists would want to blow up a National Park would remain unexplained  :P

The most anarchic thing we ever got was 'The Banana Splits'

I think I used to watch ALL of them. The one that I DIDN'T like was H.R. Puffenstuff (or Popeye). I don't know why. I love Lidsville which was probably worse then H.R.P. So there was no accounting for taste.  ::)

Some other (awful) shows that I used to love: (some may be from the 60s)

Hong Kong Fuey
Electro Woman and Dyna Girl
Shazzam
I even watched the Brady Kids (not saying that I liked it much)
The Bugaloos
Batfink
Couragous Cat and Minute Mouse
Winky Dink and Me

Some GOOD ones that I watched:

Rocky and Bullwinkle (I have a few of these on video and I can still watch them)
Wacky Racers
Kimba the White Lion
George of the Jungle
Scooby Doo
Fat Albert
The Archies (even though I don't know if that was good or bad)
Banana Splits
Winchel/Mahoney time (that goes way back from the 60s)
(of course) Looney Tunes

I'm sure there were more.

Speaking of '70's cartoons, there's a "Fat Albert" movie on the works. For better or worse.

I've seen a "behind the scenes" thing & the actors had costumes that look exactly like the cartoon.

Who knows if it would be a hit like "Scooby Doo" or a flop, with many altercations, like "Josie & The Pussycats".  :P

Though I thought the production of the movie was shelved.

I'd have to say a tie between the Peanuts specials and Schoolhouse Rock.  As a kid, I used to watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas", "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown", and all the others every holiday.  Looking at them today, it's interesting to me how so many of the Peanuts shows were full of sadness -- very different from other cartoons.  Schoolhouse Rock...."Conjunction Junction, what's your function?"...."I'm just a bill, and I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill"...."No more kings"....  it's amazing how these songs stick in your memory after 25+ years.  I have since purchased all the Peanuts holiday specials for my kids, and the Schoolhouse Rock DVD to satisfy my own nostalgia.

Anyone ever listen to the Bill Cosby records, where he would tell "Fat Albert" stories?  I can remember rolling on the floor laughing so hard at these stories.

That's actually WONDERAMA!

There was a kids' show that came on BEFORE the cartoon shows came on in my area...WPVI 6 had 'Captain Noah and his Magical Ark' which had a song called 'Sing a Rainbow' in every show..it was on from 7AM to 9AM..which is when ABC's morning cartoons took over, after the toons were over, AMERICAN BANDSTAND was on!

Does anyone remember on Sat. mornings any of the commercials or jingles?  I'm specifically looking for a commercial about the hot breakfast cereal named Cocoa Wheats.  It was a black guy playing a tall piano singing the song.  It may have been during Schoolhouse Rock but I'm not sure.
