I just recently heard a version of this song with a longer beginning...I've always liked it but now it's even better...."Strange Magic" was my first choice followed by "I Can't Get It Out Of My Head"

Cool....I probably never would've known about that version except Blaine had it on one of his burn cd's...I only discovered it late last year

Did anyone succesfully put together that cardboard spaceship thingy that came with the 'Out Of The Blue' LP? Dam' nigh impossible - kept my Dad quiet for weeks...!!

:D thanks for suggesting"mr.blue sky"!!! have you seen the video(live version) that they play on vh1classic? i like when the drummer hits the fire extinguisher(and the curly-haired back-up singer is really cute,too).

I've always enjoyed ELO, since the 70s. Their music went through a phase of being very unfashionable here in the UK through the 90s but they seem to be making recent resurgence. The band "The Beautiful South" recently covered "Living Thing" on their last album and I've heard a lot of ELO songs on the radio in the wake of that :).
Personally I prefer the simple rock-orchestra stuff like "Roll Over Beethoven" to the really sophisticated productions e.g. "Mr Blue Sky" - not keen on that vocoder sound, reminds of the scary piano voice on "Sparky The Magic Piano"!.
