What is this song and who sings it? 1970, I believe:

JJ Jackson alright. Interestingly it was the first top 5 R&B hit to be recorded in England. The artist was American, but couldn't find success here in the US. He was not the future MTV VJ.

That was a few years before, 1966, and the song is called "But It's Alright" (sic; I always spell it correctly "all right" because there is no such word as "alright"; but that's the way it's spelled on the record) by J. J. Jackson (probably not the MTV VJ).
