Subject: An easy question: the saga continues.
OK, I heard this song a couple of weeks ago in an oldies station. It's sung by a man and the main lyrics (the only ones I know, actually) go like this:
"...young girl, get out of my mind..."
It's a wonderful song, really. Quite popular, but I have not heard it in years. Anyone have any ideas as to who the artist and song are? As always, I am deeply indebted and thankful for any help provided.

You're right, it is. But it is not a 1970's song because it came out in 1968. Actually, it was their second single, and on the label, the group was called "The Union Gap featuring Gary Puckett." The followup single, "Lady Willpower," showed the name of the group on the label as Gary Puckett & the Union Gap.
