Subject: astronaut fudge sticks?
when I was little we used to eat a pre-wrapped snack that was advertised as astronaut food. The only thing I can remember about it was they were little fudge sticks - circular, and the length of a popsicle stick. They were not candy, though. Can anyone remember the name of these things?

Yeah, I think I know the ones you're talking about. Used to eat 'em all the time, back around the late '70s/early '80s. They were cylindrical, and came inside this cardboard tube, and you would eat them by pushing up a stick from the bottom. They came in a variety of flavors, including fudge. Kept them in the freezer. Unfortunately, I can't recall the name, off-hand. Were they called "Astro-Pops"??? If I'm off-base, let me know...

80smusicfreak I'm not sure but I dont think it is called Astro Pops. Here is a picture of "Astro Pops." I loved those things when I was a little kid in the 70s. I think you (80smusicfreak) are talking about Push Ups.
I remember some stuff they called astronaut food. It was freeze-dried ice cream. It was 3 flavors (together), vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Tasted like crap. I live near Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center and had it while visiting as a kid. Can't remember what it was called.

"Push-Ups"! Yes, that's what I was thinking of! Thanks for refreshing my memory. After seeing the pic you posted, I do remember the "Astro Pops" as well, although I had very few back in the day...

Don't think I've ever heard of that stuff...
